Need your Cuban link chain a little longer? Our Chain Lengthening Service allows us to add up to 4 inches while maintaining the look, feel, and craftsmanship of your original piece as closely as possible.

This is not simply a matter of adding a few premade links. Because each Cuban link is handcrafted, we first create approximately 6 inches of new chain specifically to closely match your existing chain. From that newly handcrafted section, we select and recover the appropriate number of links needed to achieve your requested finished length.

Service includes:

  • Handcrafting approximately 6 inches of new Cuban link chain to closely match your existing piece
  • Selecting the appropriate number of new links to achieve the requested length, up to 4 inches
  • Removing the existing lock/clasp
  • Attaching and soldering the new links into your chain
  • Reattaching the lock
  • Sanding and finishing all worked areas
  • Deep high-speed polishing of the entire piece
  • Ultrasonic cleaning
  • Professional steam cleaning
  • Complete refurbishment of the chain before it is returned

Important — Handmade Chain Variation

Every Cuban Link Guy chain is individually handcrafted. No two handmade chains—or individual batches of handmade links—are exactly alike.

We will make every reasonable effort to match the width, link shape, tightness, appearance, and overall construction of your existing chain. However, some differences between the original links and newly created links may be noticeable. These natural variations are part of working with a genuinely handmade product.

Gold-Bonded Pieces

PLEASE NOTE: If your piece is Gold Bonded, an additional charge of $2 per gram will apply for re-bonding/refinishing the piece. This additional charge will be calculated based on the finished weight and must be paid before the completed piece is returned to you.

Your chain will be lengthened, refinished, professionally cleaned, and completely refurbished before being returned.

Is the silver/gold real?

Yes. Our base is .999 pure silver and the gold is real 14k bonded — not plated. Solid options are real 10k/14k throughout.

Will it tarnish?

Yes. Silver can naturally tarnish; skin chemistry, sweat, humidity and products such as lotions affect how quickly it happens. Tarnish alone is not a test of purity.
